Is swapping a driving test date legal?+
Yes. You and the other learner each contact DVSA directly to change your own booking — the same free process DVSA already offers. We just help you find someone whose date you want.
Do you access the DVSA booking system?+
No. We never scrape, automate, or connect to DVSA's systems. All we do is match two learners — the actual date change always happens on a real call with DVSA.
What does the £14.99 actually pay for?+
It's a one-time account fee — not per match. Once paid, you can send and accept as many swap requests as you like, with no further charges. Browsing and getting matched is always free.
What if my request is declined or my match falls through?+
You're not charged again — your £14.99 already covers unlimited requests. Just keep browsing and send another request to a different match.
How long does it take to find a match?+
It depends entirely on how many other learners want the opposite of your date and centre. Some match within hours; others take longer if demand is low for that centre. Matching runs continuously in the background, so you don't need to keep checking.
Can I swap for a later date, not just an earlier one?+
Yes. Some learners want more time to practise rather than an earlier slot. You can set your preference to earlier, later, or any date when you add your test.
Is my personal information safe?+
Your booking reference and identity stay hidden from other learners until you've both paid and been mutually matched. We never sell or share your data with third parties.
Does this work for every UK test centre?+
Yes — all 292 DVSA practical test centres across England, Scotland, and Wales are covered.
Is TestSwapDirect affiliated with DVSA?+
No. We're an independent matching service, not affiliated with or endorsed by DVSA or DVLA. All booking changes are made by learners directly with DVSA using DVSA's own official process.
What happens after we're matched?+
Once you've both paid the one-time fee, you get a private chat with the other learner to agree the swap, plus their booking reference. You then each call DVSA on 0300 200 1122 yourselves to confirm the change — we're never involved in the actual booking.
